Toyota’s All New “Indestructible” Hilux Bakkie – You’ll be tempted to conquer the rough terrain with this one.
Toyota has finally introduced it’s long awaited successor to one of the world’s most loved Bakkies – The All new Toyota Hilux Bakkie – and it’s due to arrive in South Africa early next year.
The new Hilux will boast a newer, much more efficient (but more powerful engine) meaning more ponies, for less fuel. The engines currently in production will also still be available, but with much more torque and power. the New 2.8 liter turbo-diesel engine to be introduced next year will feature 174 Horsepower, and 331 foot-pounds of Torque. This will be mated to a 4 wheel drivetrain system, with a 6speed transmission – manual or automatic – you make the choice.
Well, as if the previous Hilux features weren’t enough, the all new Hilux will have features such as Automatic Climate Control, a state of the art audio system, and even A Digital Touch Screen entertainment system – and these come even with the base models!
The Exterior sees some major changes, with the base models even sporting LED Daytime Driving Lights. The Bumpers have been redefined, resulting in much more ground clearance – making it an easy competitor to the Volkswagen Amarok and Ford Ranger.
Pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we don’t foresee a huge difference in prices from the current Hilux’s – and knowing Toyota, they really deliver value for money.
